Religious Education

New Paragraph

What is Religious Education or Faith Formation in the Catholic Church?

Religious Education encompasses catechesis for children aged 5 and older, as well as adults of all ages.

Faith Formation is catechesis, (teaching the Catholic faith), with the intention of deepening one’s relationship with Jesus through various educational and enrichment opportunities. Designed to to engage both the intellect and the heart, empowering individuals to live and experience a more Christ-centered life. The goal of our Religious Education Program is to provide effective ways of teaching the Catholic faith to people of all ages and backgrounds.

We create a connection to the new evangelization envisioned by Second Vatican Council,  the initiatives of recent Popes, and the teachings outlined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Ultimately, faith formation centers on the question: How can I authentically and practically live the Catholic faith?

At the Church of Saint Patrick, offerings such as Children’s classes, Confirmation classes for teenagers and adults, Bible Study, and Adult Faith Formation Ministries serve as valuable tools for deepening one’s understanding of the heart and mind of Jesus Christ and His sacramental presence in the Catholic Church.
